Helping Teachers in Iowas Schools with the Email to Task Zap With emails flooding in from clients, colleagues, and stakeholders on a daily basis, your inbox can really take a hit. Aaron Roberts, the Innovation Coach for Mason City Schools, shared how this occurs in his work: “My job as the Innovation Coach is similar to the work of a consultant. Teachers are my clients, so I have a great deal of teacher questions rolling into my inbox daily,” To help Aaron manage these emails, he set up a Zap, from Zapier, that converts labeled Gmail messages into MeisterTask tasks. For example, by labeling an email as “Middle school teacher needs”, the email is added automatically as a task to the relevant section of Aaron’s teacher request project board. Building Beautiful Digital Marketing Solutions Transparently Earlier this year, we heard from Dutch creative agency We Brand Creative about how they manage client liaison transparently, by creating a new MeisterTask project board for each new client they work with. The team then invites their client to collaborate in the project, providing a visual project roadmap and allowing their clients to track project progress transparently, via the Kanban workflow. Each of their project boards includes the tasks agreed upon with the client and the stage that each task is at in the journey to completion. For example, the team has a section for ‘In Progress *Client Name*’, including all tasks that are in progress but currently with the client for feedback. Flannery O’Connor When writing a piece of literature the content is often influenced from the background of the person who is writing. The author, whether consciously or subconsciously, adds in personal experiences or beliefs into their pieces. Flannery O’Connor is a good example of this trend. Her short stories illustrate the hardships, beliefs, and society at the time she lived and was writing. It is most blatantly demonstrated in her collection of short stories entitled, A Good Man Is Hard to Find, and Other Stories. All her life, O’Connor was always an outcast. When she was young she lost her dad, making it just her mother and herself in the family. In her childhood she was a Catholic in the South which was mainly populated with Protestants. And later in life she was crimpled and on crutches way before the expected age to become dependent on others. All of these are not common occurrences, making her different from the rest of society. After she was on crutches, O’Connor once said, â€Å"I write every day for at least two hours, she told in an interview, and I spend the rest of my time largely in the society of ducks,† (Liukkonen). She never quite fit in with society. This is also the case with many of the characters in her story. Most noticeable this is the case with the Polish farmer found in her story, â€Å"The Displaced Person.† He was a foreigner who came over to America. He was feared by the other employees on the farm. It was such an extreme case that it caused complete turmoil on the farm. The Polish farmer ended up being killed by a tractor with several onlookers, none of whom spoke up to save him. This shows that society is unwilling to take in people who are different from them. O’Connor experienced this first-hand while growing up, most notably because she was Catholic and her world around her was not Catholic. Soon enough, he is also put to the death, and she as well. In the Hebrew bible, one quote that represents well is Deuteronomy 22:22 â€Å"If a man is found sleeping with another man’s wife, both the man who slept with her and the woman must die. You must purge the evil from Israel. So the average punishment for adultery, or cheating, was the death penalty. Kidnapping was also a big theme in the Iliad, in which Breisis, daughter of the priest Apollo, was kidnapped by Agamemnon, whom professes his love for her and does not want to give her up for life itself.
